Certification

Certificate of registration with the Municipal Board of Social Service (COMAS) nº 1052/2013, issued on November 28, 2014, without an expiration date.

Endowment, budget, and administrative expenditure

In 2000, Itaú established an endowment funded by donations of its own money and shares of the Itaú conglomerate. The annual budget of Itaú Social consists of the yield from the investment of this endowment. The amount invested in 2021 was R$ 159 million. For efficient management, we use an indicator that limits administrative costs to 5% of the total amount invested in programs and projects.

Accounting statements

In keeping with its principles of ethics and transparency, Itaú Social provides public access to its audited accounting statements for the past three years.

Since 2019, the statements have reported on Fundação Itaú for Education and Work’s three fronts of action – Itaú Social, Itaú Cultural, and Itaú Education and Work.

Reports

Relationship with suppliers/providers

For more than 30 years, Itaú Unibanco has engaged in significant actions in the fields of education and culture, through Itaú Cultural, Itaú Social, and Itaú BBA.

Aiming to further enlarge the impact of our initiatives on society, Fundação Itaú for Education and Culture (Fundação Itaú), created in 2019, has taken on the mission to promote education, culture, social assistance, the defense and guarantee of rights, as well as the strengthening of civil society.

The foundation is therefore structured along three fronts of action – Itaú Social, Itaú Cultural, and Education and Work – to ensure the continuity of the work carried out over the course of three decades and the expansion of this legacy with an even more robust governance.

Searching for excellence and transparency in our suppliers/providers, partners and invitees, we have developed a Homologation Policy.

We have created a Homologation Policy with the aim to present, to our partners, guests and suppliers/providers, Fundação Itaú for Education and Culture’s principles of conduct, as well as our commitment to the combat of corruption and the prevention of money laundering.

Seeking to ensure the transparency of its actions, Fundação Itaú informs that, to be related with this institution, any individual or business entity must be homologated, that is, they must be approved in the administrative evaluation process. For this reason, certain sorts of information and/or documents will be requested beforehand.

The homologation of any invited partner or supplier does not imply that Fundação Itaú has any duty to invite them to participate in any processes related to the supply of any product or service to be acquired by this foundation.

Fundação Itaú continuously aims to expand its roster of suppliers/providers, regardless of their size, as long as they have been proved in the evaluation process, and have the conditions to offer their products or services in accordance with the needs and specifications divulged.

Fundação Itaú takes great care to maintain a transparent relationship with its suppliers/providers, invitees and partners, according to the following principles:

  • to be active in the combat of corruption, the nonfinancing of terrorism, and the prevention of money laundering;
  • to ensure transparency, privacy and confidentiality of regarding the information of our suppliers/providers, invitees and partners;
  • to comply with regulatory demands;
  • to detect and manage situations of conflict of interests;
  • to constantly identify and mitigate risks.
  • to become a service provider of Fundação Itaú, it is necessary to pass through a process of administrative evaluation, called homologation.

For purposes of this policy, being legally qualified means having a business charter, professional registrations and the other necessary documents for regulating the operation of the company or the activity of the professional freelancer, registered or issued by the relevant agencies.

We believe that for sustainable growth we should promote the development of continuous practices and actions that seek the combined development of our suppliers/providers, invitees and partners. Fundação Itaú considers the following actions as good practices, and recommends them to its suppliers/providers, invitees, and partners:

  • ethical conduct;
  • valorizing diversity;
  • offering suitable working conditions;
  • fostering the hiring of local companies and inclusive suppliers/providers, such as small and midsize companies;
  • not supporting, using or getting otherwise involved in child labor, forced labor, or the like;
  • complying with all applicable legislation and regulatory standards of the Labor Ministry, furnishing personal
  • protective equipment (PPE) to workers and promoting their use, when necessary;
  • considering socioenvironmental criteria in planning and annual budgeting;
  • adhering to applicable legislation and licensing requirements.

The concepts listed above reinforce our recommendations of sustainability.

We emphasize that it is important for your company to encourage its own suppliers/providers to follow standards of ethics and social environmental responsibility in their supply chains as well. We thus stimulate a beneficial cycle of sustainability in our society.

We recommend that the orientations of sustainability in the management of the business should be followed by all companies, and not only our suppliers/providers.
