Since 1993, we have been creating and deploying various programs aimed at upgrading public education in Brazil.

  • 1993

    Creation of the Community Support program.

  • 1994

    Launch of the Roots and Wings project.

  • 1995

    Creation of the Itaú-Unicef Award program.

  • 1999

    Creation of the Improvement of Education in the Municipality program.

  • 2000

    Establishment of Fundação Itaú Social.

  • 2001

    Creation of the Volunteer School Award, in partnership with Rádio Bandeirantes.

  • 2002

    Creation of the Writing the Future program.

  • 2003

    Creation of the Itaú Volunteer program.

  • 2004

    Creation of the Urban Youth program. First economic evaluation of a social project: Roots and Wings.

  • 2005

    Creation of the online portal of the Volunteering program: iVolunteers.

  • 2006

    Creation of the Itaú Child program. Creation of the Community, Here! program

  • 2008

    Creation of the Coaching and Parent Coordinators programs. First edition of the Writing the Future – Portuguese Language Olympiad.

  • 2010

    Creation of the Advanced Course on Economic Evaluation of Social Projects.

  • 2011

    Creation of the Evaluation and Learning program. Creation of the Discussion Panels on Educational Management.

  • 2012

    Creation of the Network of Economic Evaluation of Social Projects, an online platform for dissemination of the methodology.

  • 2013

    Increased transfer of social technologies to the government: Coaching, Urban Youth and Parent Coordinators.

  • 2014

    Creation of Volunteers' Committees.

  • 2016

    Creation of the Networks of Educational Territories program.

  • 2017

    Creation of the Mission in Focus program.

  • 2019

    Establishment of Fundação Itaú para a Educação e Cultura, to encompass the operations of Itaú Social, Itaú Cultural, and the education initiatives and other work supported up to then by Itaú BBA.

  • 2020

    Due to Covid-19, Itaú Social reviewed its activities and presented new initiatives to seek to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic on education. Through the network of social organization partnerships, the institution also made emergency donations of food and other items of basic needs.
