The mission of the Educational Networks and Territories program is to contribute to the overall development of children, adolescents and young people based on the fostering of territorial networks of civil society organizations acting in an integrated and intersectoral way.

Acting in mutual articulation, the organizations create networks for contributing to educational territories able to enlarge the opportunities of learning by children and teens in situations of greater social vulnerability. The activities carried out by the program in 2020 include 12 training meetings in the municipalities of Aquiraz (CE) and Cuiabá (MT). Carried out by Itaú Social, the program has as an implementing partner the Integrated Center for Studies and Programs of Sustainable Development (Cieds). A novelty in 2020, the Mapa de Identidades [Map of Identities] helps the territory to conceive a Collective and Integrated Plan of Action which gives support to the different local actors to operate in mutual articulation to confront serious and urgent issues. The aim is to transform actions that are isolated – and for this very reason, often ineffective – into collective and strengthened initiatives.

Fund for Fostering Educational Networks
PROGRAM SUPPORTS 25 INITIATIVES

In 2020, the Funding Program for the Fostering of Educational Territories supported 25 projects in the municipalities of São Luís (MA), Cuiabá and Várzea Grande (MT). The amount of R$ 621 thousand was invested to aid the organizations in these three municipalities. Of the 25 projects supported, 15 were focused on the right to education, to culture, to support and to leisure; 8 were focused on the right to life and to health; and 2 were related to the right to family and community coexistence. Throughout the year, 48 meetings were held in the municipalities with the aim of exchanging experiences and establishing a space for dialogues about the overall development of children and teens. These meetings were mobilized by the local CSO networks. In Mato Grosso the program relied on the partnership of Fundação André and Lucia Maggi in the development, execution and shared financial support of the Territory Network Program. The Mapa de Identidades, released in 2020, is a fundamental tool for the participation of the organizations in the program.
